Amazon shipped this book - can't wait, even though I've read almost all of it before!

There is a new novel from Ace, though. Just saw that Knights of the Cornerstone will be out in November from Ace.

Woooo-hoooo! That's great news!  Smiley

There is a new novel from Ace, though. Just saw that Knights of the Cornerstone will be out in November from Ace. The first one in 10 years, I think, which is stupendous news. It'll be in the next Locus, and I saw it on his academic site.

Is it not the case that sometimes publishers will reprint books for authors who have new works coming out?  Priming the pump, as it were?  Am I foolish to perk up my ears again and troll for something new from Mr. Blaylock?

Sometimes, but in this case it probably doesn't apply. This collection is published by Subterranean, which isn't a major publisher, so its release probably doesn't foretell a new novel from Ace or another major publishing house.

A new omnibus of Blaylock's steampunk stories is apparently scheduled for November 30, 2008 from Subterranean Press:
The Adventures of Langdon St. Ives

This omnibus volume contains the collected Steampunk stories and novels of James P. Blaylock, one of the originators of the genre, which hearkens back to the worlds of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells, a world where science was a work of the imagination, and the imagination was endlessly free to dream. The Adventures of Langdon St. Ives will contain the original illustrations J. K. Potter created for the novel Lord Kelvin's Machine, plus many more for the novel, Homunculus, and the short stories.
