Thoughts on Cap'n Binky / Story Request

I was browsing the threads of the old forum archive tonight.  The mention of Cap'n Binky and his perpetual pot of coffee got me to thinking about Blaylockian stories that would be nice to read.  Perhaps something about the Cap'n and his troubles with the sinister dwarf just before he meets Mr. Bing and the Professor, and then when he is forced to take refuge with the Strawberry Baron, up until the time when they have finally dealt with Selznak/Sikorski/Uncle Helstrom.  After all, Cap'n Binky is every bit as interesting as Theophile Escargot and quite a bit more mysterious.

Or, for something different, what about a story about Dr. Chan and his mysterious herb shop, or the curiosity shop next door?  The possibilities are simply endless.

I'm sure our man Blaylock is too busy to take requests, but one never knows unless one tries.  Smiley

I think that's part of what appeals to me so much about JPB's writing- each character that has even a minor part in the story is often so complex and quirky that he/she could easily assume the role of protagonist in their own little adventure.

It's a great idea, and it would make for some pretty damn good reading to follow the Capt. in his adventures along the river.

You could argue that "The Stone Giant" was just that.  It tells the story of  Theophile Escargot, who plays a somewhat less than central role in "The Elfin Ship" and "Disappearing Dwarf".
